KOCC'S  ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
STUDENT SPONSORSHIPS

The women elders who manage Kakamega Orphans Care Centre come from seven surrounding villages, and  their deep community roots help them identify children for sponsorship based on extraordinary need.

All KOCC children attend public elementary schools.  Home-based students walk to the local elementary schools closest to their homes, and there are public elementary schools near the Care Centre itself,.

Homebased Program

Sponsor a Home-based
Elementary School Student
The Kakamega Orphans Care Centre residence is not an orphanage, but instead a stable and loving home where orphans and vulnerable children have a chance to develop and grow in a fully supportive environment.  Care Centre children maintain a strong connection with their communities and return to their villages to stay with family during school holidays.

Where a caring, loving, and supportive home exists for them, children are sponsored through the Homebased program and their guardians receive a cash stipend for food and educational expenses, as well as farm inputs and other basic needs that will support the child's education and development.
